GHD Inspires Future Engineers, UK
Salford, UK – Last November, GHD UK partnered with first-year Civil Engineering students at the University of Salford to deliver an interactive session designed to introduce students to real-world engineering and consultancy careers.
The session was led by GHD Technical Leader Andrew Wilson, who shared insights into the Civil and Structural Engineering profession, highlighted GHD’s projects across the UK and globally, and showcased the positive impact of the GHD Foundation. He also reflected on his own career journey, offering practical advice on professional development and life in consultancy.
The interactive discussion sparked lively engagement, with students asking thoughtful questions and exploring the opportunities available in engineering. The session highlighted GHD’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent and strengthening connections between academia and industry.
This collaboration forms part of GHD UK’s ongoing university partnerships, supporting the development of future engineering professionals and fostering strong industry-academic links.
It was inspiring to collaborate with the students and share insights from our work at GHD. Engaging with the next generation of engineers is vital, and sessions like this help students understand the exciting opportunities the profession offers."
