What is food insecurity?

Food insecurity is widespread, and when people struggle to get adequate food, their nutritional intake suffers, increasing their risk of developing nutritional deficiencies and chronic diseases. The inadequate availability of nutritious food can result in malnutrition, stunted growth, impaired immune systems, and increased susceptibility to diseases in children.
