Our response

Our response

GHD Design led the architecture and landscape architecture for the Rochedale Bus Station and Park 'n' Ride precinct, guided by TransLink’s branding and theming requirements. Multidisciplinary services from GHD included structures, civil and building services. The design used a set of standardised elements that work together to create a consistent and recognisable facility for commuters. These components were carefully selected and combined to deliver a unified experience and appearance throughout the bus station. The design prioritises wayfinding and comfort, with large canopy trees providing shade and extensive planting softening the built form. Paving references Rochedale’s farming history, adding rhythm and delineating access points. Sustainability is central to the project, with native plant species selected for drought tolerance and reduced irrigation and locally sourced clay bricks used in retaining walls and plaza paving. The design enhances pedestrian routes and connects surrounding development, encouraging public transport use. The multidisciplinary team collaborated to deliver a solution that is both functional and visually engaging, supporting long-term community needs.
