Guy Graening named to SAME Academy of Fellows

GHD's Guy Graening, Contamination Assessment and Remediation Business Group Leader based in Roseville, California, has been selected to join the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Academy of Fellows Class of 2026.

The SAME Academy of Fellows recognizes members who have provided outstanding service to the society, military engineering and the architecture, engineering and construction profession. Of approximately 20,000 SAME members, only 800 have been selected for the Academy since the 1970s.

"I'm honored to join this distinguished group and grateful for the opportunities SAME has provided to connect with and support the military engineering community over the past two decades," says Guy.

Guy is the fourth GHD employee selected to the Academy, joining Tony Petroccitto, Steven Herrera and Michelle Klouda. 

Guy has extensive experience delivering federal infrastructure projects and building lasting relationships with government clients. His work spans military installations across the United States, supporting mission-critical facilities and infrastructure that enhance national security and operational readiness.

Beyond project delivery, Guy has been actively involved in the SAME Sacramento Post since 2004, serving in multiple leadership roles including Scholarship Chair, Treasurer, 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President and President. His contributions support the organization's mission of connecting military and civilian engineering professionals. 

SAME's primary goal is to promote education in math, science and engineering. The organization awards scholarships to students pursuing architecture, engineering and environmental science degrees.

Guy will be inducted during a ceremony at the SAME Joint Engineer Training Conference and Expo in Portland, Oregon on May 21, 2026.
