Alternative Fuels

Sustainable aviation fuel
Alternative fuel projects depend on a chain of decisions across production, storage, transport and offtake that all have to work together. We connect those pieces into pathways that are technically sound, commercially financeable and ready to build.
Connect production, infrastructure, demand and economics to create alternative fuel projects ready for investment and delivery.
Alternative fuel projects need evidence that supply, infrastructure, demand and economics support a viable development. We help clients test these factors together, identify the assumptions carrying the business case and establish what needs to be resolved for investment to proceed.

We test whether the project works as an integrated system.

Hydrogen and ammonia developments draw on energy and water supplies, production technology, storage, transport and secure offtake. We model how these elements interact and show where technical or infrastructure constraints could change the commercial outcome. In Western Australia, we developed feasibility and financial modelling that linked engineering scenarios with market assumptions and business outcomes for a proposed export-scale renewable hydrogen development. The study considered green hydrogen and ammonia production, infrastructure requirements, customer demand and potential business models.

We build the evidence investors need.

Technical feasibility is one part of the investment case. Financial viability, market timing, policy settings, stakeholder requirements and delivery risks also influence whether a project can progress. We bring these considerations into the business case, helping clients compare options, test key assumptions and understand which issues need to be resolved. Our published guidance on hydrogen investment identifies eight areas for scrutiny, spanning technical feasibility, financial viability, market need, environmental attributes, stakeholder engagement, constraints, policy alignment and delivery approach.

We stay focused on outcomes that matter:

  • Technical and commercial constraints identified early
  • Infrastructure requirements tested across the project system
  • Investment cases grounded in market demand and delivery realities
  • Clearer evidence for funding and investment decisions
