These engineers, like those we will celebrate at the ASCE Gala, are working every day to shape the future of cities, solving problems to create better lives for people worldwide.

There are numerous GHD colleagues from all levels involved in ASCE’s local sections, branches and institutes who are doing the great work that Cities of the Future speak of. Because of our deep, active involvement, we are all very proud of the film and look forward to celebrating this important achievement with our industry while we work together to address our shared challenges.
The civil engineering profession has seen flat enrollment over the last decade, while our workforce is getting older and the demands are growing. The next decade will see high school enrollment drop 10-20 % at a time when we are already under-resourced, making for a workforce crisis. Cities of the Future is to ignite the imagination of middle and high school students as to what is possible for our collective world vision future.
