Simon Light possesses a wealth of experience in the natural and built environment sector, having collaborated with leading global and regional organisations to design and deliver built asset solutions for clients and communities.

He is the CEO of GHD’s EMEA business, encompassing operations in the United Kingdom, the UAE and Qatar. He is a Company Director of GHD’s corporate entities in the UK and Middle East, and a member of GHD Group Board’s Finance sub-committee. As a seasoned global executive in strategic business development, service delivery and operational leadership roles, Simon brings extensive knowledge across a variety of sectors, particularly within the infrastructure and real estate markets in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

His expertise is bolstered by a proven track record of M&A, post-merger integration, successful leading and delivery of transformative business outcomes in multicultural environments and complex stakeholder landscapes. Simon’s ability to understand diverse market dynamics and stakeholder needs enables him to deliver comprehensive, integrated and effective solutions.

Simon holds an Honours degree in Quantity Surveying from Edinburgh Napier University and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He has completed executive leadership programs at Henley Business School and Vlerick Business School and is an INSEAD-certified company Director.
