This has knock-on effects for every part of society, with over three-quarters of energy sector leaders (76 percent) saying the energy crisis is reducing the standard of living across the globe and 78 percent believing increases in energy prices have the biggest impact on the poorest parts of society.
Energy companies are feeling the pressure themselves, with 71 percent saying consumer backlash from increased energy bills is a grave threat to their business.
