GHD featured in USA TODAY’s America250 documentary on the American Society of Civil Engineers
GHD’s Maria Lehman is featured in an America250 documentary on USA Today focused on the American Society of Civil Engineers and its role in shaping the engineering profession and infrastructure across the United States. The video is part of a series of short documentaries on 25 companies and organizations that have helped shaped America’s past, present and future.
“Every minute of every day, we are impacted by the work of civil engineers,” she said in the documentary. “Whether it’s turning the power on, whether it’s turning your water on, getting on mass transit or onto a plane, it all involves what we do.”
GHD Strategic Transportation Advisor Marsha Anderson Bomar, who serves as ASCE President, also contributed to the broader story featured alongside the documentary.
“Nearly every community has infrastructure that defines its identity, yet the impact of these projects is often overlooked,” Bomar said. “This film recognizes the engineering profession’s contribution to the nation’s progress and highlights the role civil engineers will continue to play in strengthening infrastructure for the future.”
The documentary explores how infrastructure supports communities and connects that story to the profession’s ongoing work, including the development of standards, national reporting and future-focused initiatives such as the Report Card for America’s Infrastructure and Future World Vision.
